Teen Full-Day Outpatient Treatment in Concord, MA

Our Teen Full-Day Outpatient Treatment Program is the most comprehensive outpatient program we offer. It combines evidence-based therapies, individual counseling, and recovery-focused activities led by expert-level clinicians, all within a supportive peer environment. The Teen Full-Day Outpatient Treatment Program offers a high level of care provided in a structured, all-day program.

In addition to individual counseling and therapy, your child will get the opportunity to attend group therapy sessions with peers. They can share their experiences, and hear from other kids around their age, and learn that they’re not alone in their struggles. These group sessions will be facilitated by one of our expert clinicians, and happen multiple times a week.

Throughout the program, your teen will also have access to a psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management or family support needs, when appropriate. Additionally, a dedicated case manager will monitor your child’s progress and provide ongoing support throughout their treatment journey.

To help your child stay on track academically, our instructor will coordinate directly with their school to obtain assigned coursework and homework. This ensures your child can maintain continuity in their education and keep pace with their peers while receiving the care they need.

Start With a Comprehensive Assessment

Upon admission, we conduct a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to identify any underlying mental health concerns contributing to your teen’s challenging behaviors. This process evaluates the social, biological, and psychological factors influencing their development.

Using the results of this thorough assessment, our master’s-level clinicians will determine the most appropriate level of care and design a highly personalized treatment plan for your teen. Additionally, to help your family prepare for life after outpatient treatment, our team will connect you with supportive resources available outside of Pillars.

Teen Full-Day Treatment Schedule

If you think that the Teen Full-Day Treatment Program is right for your child, we typically recommend that they commit to it for five days a week to start. This lets your child experience the full scope of treatment we can provide, and can help them establish good habits early on. In the tables below you can see what an average schedule may look like, but the schedule isn’t set in stone. We’re willing to work with you and your child to craft a treatment plan that fits both of your goals, schedules, and needs.

Academic Support

Ensuring Academic Continuity

One of the first questions parents ask is, “What about my child’s schoolwork?” We’re glad you asked.

We understand that falling behind academically during treatment can create additional mental health challenges, such as stress, anxiety, shame, and lower self-esteem.

That’s why a key component of our teen outpatient programs involves our state-certified teacher working directly with your teen’s school. They will collect coursework and assignments to ensure your teen maintains academic continuity and stays on track with their classmates throughout treatment.

Evidence-Based Clinical Services

At Pillars Health Group, our clinical services form the foundation of our comprehensive care. Our expert clinical team relies on evidence-based therapies and treatment modalities to uncover the underlying causes of the mental health challenges your child may be experiencing. Through a combination of individual and peer-focused therapies, we help empower your child to build a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Our clinical services encompass a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including medication management (when appropriate), comprehensive case management, and various outpatient therapy options.

In addition to clinical treatment, your teen will also engage in what we call “mindful movement,” incorporating physical exercise that supports healing of both the body and the mind.

What if my teen can’t commit to the schedule for the Half-Day or Full-Day Outpatient Treatment Program?

If you’re concerned about your child being able to commit to the Half-Day or Full-Day schedules, no worries. Our counselors are here to help. Regardless of their schedule and commitments, we’re willing to work with you and them to design a treatment program that’ll fit both of your goals, schedules, and needs. What’s the difference between outpatient and inpatient treatment?

In outpatient treatment, your child can maintain their daily schooling and responsibilities while still getting the help and resources they need to promote emotional growth. Inpatient treatment involves living at a facility and receiving constant 24/7care. At Pillars Health Group, we specialize in outpatient treatment, and we do not provide inpatient treatment.

How long does outpatient treatment typically last?

Outpatient treatment will typically last 8 to 12 weeks, but it can be longer or shorter depending on your child’s unique treatment needs and progress.

Can my child still get schoolwork and homework done during teen outpatient treatment?

Yes! This is foundational to our outpatient care. Our instructors will reach out to your child’s school to make sure they’re getting the schoolwork and resources they need to keep pace with their classmates.

Is outpatient treatment confidential?

Yes, outpatient treatment at Pillars Health Group is completely confidential. HIPAA laws dictate that treatment providers like Pillars maintain your and your child’s confidentiality.

Can I be involved in my child’s treatment plan?

Yes, you and other family members can be involved in your child’s treatment plan, and family support is provided. All of our teen treatment programs offer collaborative family services.
