Our Teen Half-Day Outpatient Treatment Program is designed to provide robust support, and give your child a greater degree of independence. With a shorter schedule, your child will have the opportunity to practice the habits and lessons they’ve learned in treatment throughout their daily life.
The Teen Half-Day Treatment Program can help your child if they’re experiencing moderate-to-severe mental health challenges. It blends evidence-based therapies, individual counseling, and structured group sessions in a peer environment. Our treatment programs are centered in mindful enrichment, and emotional regulation.
Throughout the program, your teen will also have access to a psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management or family support needs, if appropriate. In addition, a dedicated case manager will work closely with both of you to track your child’s progress and support you throughout their treatment journey.
Also, in order to not fall behind in their education, our instructor will work with your child’s school to get the coursework and homework they’ve been assigned. This way your child can maintain their continuity with their education, and keep pace with their peers.
Start With a Comprehensive Assessment
Upon admission, your teen will receive a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to identify any underlying mental health concerns contributing to their challenging behaviors. This evaluation takes into account the social, biological, and psychological factors that influence their development.
Using the results of this thorough assessment, our master’s-level clinicians will determine the appropriate level of care and design a highly personalized treatment plan. Additionally, to help your family prepare for life after outpatient treatment, our team will connect you with supportive resources available outside of Pillars.

Teen Half-Day Treatment Schedule
If it’s determined that the Teen Half-Day Treatment Program is the right fit for your child, we generally recommend beginning with a five-day-a-week schedule. This approach allows your child to fully engage with the program, benefit from the complete range of services, and start building healthy habits from day one.
Below is an example of what a typical schedule might look like, though it’s not fixed. We’re always willing to collaborate with you and your child to design a treatment plan that aligns with your goals, availability, and unique needs.
Half-Day Schedule Option 1
| 9:00 – 9:30 | Check-in |
| 9:30 – 10:00 | Mindfulness & Enrichment |
| 10:00 – 10:45 | Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Group |
| 10:45 – 12:00 | Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Group |
| 12:00-12:30 | Process & Wrap-up |
Half-Day Schedule Option 2
| 10:30-11:00 | Check-in |
| 11:00-12:00 | Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Group |
| 12:00-12:30 | Lunch |
| 12:30-1:00 | Mindfulness & Enrichment |
| 1:00-2:00 | Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Group |

| 2:30-3:30 | Process & Wrap-up |
In addition to the structured daily schedule, the Teen Half-Day Treatment Program provides weekly individual therapy sessions for your teen, biweekly case management, and additional support as needed. As a parent or guardian, you’ll receive weekly progress updates, details about your teen’s schedule or any program changes, and guidance on how to reinforce the skills and lessons your child is learning in treatment.
Academic Support
Ensuring Academic Continuity
One of the first questions parents ask is, “What about my child’s schoolwork?” We’re glad you asked.
We understand that falling behind academically during treatment can lead to additional mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, shame, and low self-esteem.
That’s why a key component of our teen outpatient programs involves our state-certified teacher working directly with your teen’s school. She gathers coursework and assignments to ensure your teen maintains academic continuity and stays on pace with their classmates throughout treatment.
Evidence-Based Clinical Services
At Pillars Health Group, our clinical services are at the heart of our comprehensive care. Our skilled clinical team uses evidence-based therapies and treatment modalities to uncover the root causes of the mental health challenges your child may be experiencing. Through a combination of individual therapy and peer-centered support, we empower your child to build a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Our clinical services span a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including medication management (when appropriate), comprehensive case management, and various outpatient therapies.
In addition to clinical treatment, your teen will also take part in what we call “mindful movement,” a form of physical activity designed to support healing of both the body and the mind.
