Answering the Important Questions First

What’s your approach to treatment?

Our goal is to support your family with compassion and flexibility, meeting you where you are and creating a program that fits the specific needs of both you and your child. Above all, we focus on building trust and connection with your teen first. Before we can help them work through the challenges they’re facing, we believe it’s important to truly get to know who they are as a person.

What happens to schooling and classwork during treatment?

We have a state-certified teacher that will work directly with your teen’s school. She gathers coursework and assignments to ensure your teen maintains academic continuity and stays on pace with their classmates throughout treatment.

What types of mental health conditions do you treat?

We treat a variety of different mental health conditions, including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, grief, personality disorders, mood disorders, self-harm/suicidal ideation, disordered eating, body dysmorphia, attachment-based issues, family conflict, and social/emotional challenges.

What are the schedule options for the outpatient treatment programs?

We’re here to work around your schedule. So, no matter what that looks like, we’ll work with you to tailor a program to the needs of your child. For an example schedules for our programs, see the Full-Day schedule, and Half-Day schedule further down this page.

Do you offer individual therapy?

We do not offer standalone individual therapy. All therapy services are incorporated into the personalized treatment program we create for your child, allowing us to provide a more comprehensive and supportive approach to care for your child that individual therapy can’t do by itself.

What type of insurance do you accept?

We accept major health insurances, including Cigna, and we’ll work with other insurances on your behalf to make the process stress-free.

What’s the age range of teens in your care?

At our dedicated-adolescent treatment facility in Concord, we treat teens aged 12-17.

Is family a part of treatment?

While we don’t offer formal family therapy sessions, family support is a meaningful part of everything we do. We know how important parents are in a teen’s recovery journey, and we’re here to make sure you feel informed, supported, and involved every step of the way. Our goal is to help families feel more connected, confident, and equipped to support their teen both during treatment and at home.

Starting the Treatment Process

When your teen begins treatment, we take the time to truly get to know them through a comprehensive assessment that looks at the emotional, social, psychological, and environmental factors impacting their mental health and well-being.

This helps our clinical team create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your child’s unique needs and goals. We also work closely with parents and caregivers throughout the process, offering guidance, support, and connections to helpful resources that can continue benefiting your family long after treatment ends.

Personalized Treatment Programs

Every teen’s needs are different, which is why we offer multiple levels of care designed to provide the right balance of structure, support, and flexibility. Explore the options below to learn more about our Teen Full-Day and Half-Day Treatment Programs and how we tailor each experience to fit your child’s unique needs.

Academic Support

Ensuring Academic Continuity

One of the most common concerns parents have when considering treatment is, “What will happen to my child’s schoolwork?” It’s an important question, and one we take seriously.

We understand that falling behind academically can add even more stress, anxiety, and frustration during an already difficult time, which is why educational support is built into our teen outpatient programs.

Our state-certified teacher works directly with your teen’s school to coordinate assignments, gather coursework, and help maintain academic continuity throughout treatment. By staying connected with teachers and school staff, we’re able to support your teen both emotionally and academically—helping them stay on track with their classmates while focusing on their mental health and overall well-being.

Evidence-Based Clinical Services

At Pillars Health Group, our clinical services are designed to help teens better understand and overcome the underlying causes of the mental health challenges they may be facing.

Through evidence-based therapies, individual counseling, peer support, medication management when appropriate, and comprehensive case management, we create personalized treatment experiences that support lasting growth and healing.

Teens also participate in “mindful movement,” a wellness-focused form of physical activity that promotes both emotional and physical well-being as part of the recovery process.

Teen Outpatient Treatment Programs FAQ

What if my teen can’t commit to the schedule for the Half-Day or Full-Day Outpatient Treatment Program?

If you’re concerned about your child being able to commit to the Half-Day or Full-Day schedules, no worries. Our counselors are here to help. Regardless of their schedule and commitments, we’re willing to work with you and them to design a treatment program that’ll fit both of your goals, schedules, and needs. Let us help you both find a flexible path towards healing.

What’s the difference between outpatient and inpatient treatment?

In outpatient treatment, your child can maintain their daily schooling and responsibilities while still getting the help and resources they need to promote emotional growth. Inpatient treatment involves living at a facility and receiving constant 24/7care. At Pillars Health Group, we specialize in outpatient treatment, and we do not provide inpatient treatment.

How long does outpatient treatment typically last?

Outpatient treatment will typically last 8 to 12 weeks, but it can be longer or shorter depending on your child’s unique treatment needs and progress.

Can my child still get schoolwork and homework done during teen outpatient treatment?

Yes! This is foundational to our outpatient care. Our instructors will reach out to your child’s school to make sure they’re getting the schoolwork and resources they need to keep pace with their classmates.

Is outpatient treatment confidential?

Yes, outpatient treatment at Pillars Health Group is completely confidential. HIPAA laws dictate that treatment providers like Pillars maintain your and your child’s confidentiality.

Can I be involved in my child’s treatment plan?

Yes, you and other family members can be involved in your child’s treatment plan, and family support is provided. All of our teen treatment programs offer collaborative family services.

Will my insurance cover teen outpatient treatment?

Most health insurance plans will cover teen outpatient treatment to some extent. If you’re unsure that your insurance will cover outpatient treatment for your child, please fill out this simple form, and we’ll verify your coverage. We want to make the process stress-free and simple.
