Our Teen Full-Day Outpatient Treatment Program, commonly known as a partial hospitalization program (PHP), is the most comprehensive outpatient program we offer. It combines evidence-based therapies, individual counseling, and recovery-focused activities led by expert-level clinicians, all within a supportive peer environment. The Teen Full-Day Outpatient Treatment Program offers a high level of care provided in a structured, all-day program.

In addition to individual counseling and therapy, your child will get the opportunity to attend group therapy sessions with peers. They can share their experiences, hear from other kids around their age, and learn that they’re not alone in their struggles. These group sessions are facilitated by one of our expert clinicians and take place multiple times a week.

Throughout the program, your teen will also have access to a psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management or family support needs, when appropriate. Additionally, a dedicated case manager will monitor your child’s progress and provide ongoing support throughout their treatment journey.

To help your child stay on track academically, our instructor will coordinate directly with their school to obtain assigned coursework and homework. This ensures your child can maintain continuity in their education and keep pace with their peers while receiving the care they need.

Start With a Comprehensive Assessment

Upon admission, we conduct a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to identify any underlying mental health concerns contributing to your teen’s challenging behaviors. This process evaluates the social, biological, and psychological factors influencing their development.

Using the results of this thorough assessment, our master’s-level clinicians will determine the most appropriate level of care and design a highly personalized treatment plan for your teen. Additionally, to help your family prepare for life after outpatient treatment, our team will connect you with supportive resources available outside of Pillars.

Teen Full-Day Treatment (PHP) Schedule in Concord

If you think that the Teen Full-Day Treatment Program is right for your child, we typically recommend that they commit to it for five days a week to start. This lets your child experience the full scope of treatment we can provide and helps establish good habits early on. The table below shows what an average schedule may look like, but the schedule isn’t set in stone. We’re willing to work with you and your child to craft a treatment plan that fits your goals, schedules, and needs. If your teen does not require or would like to opt out of academic support, we can adjust their schedule to accommodate that.

Typical Full-Day Schedule

8:00 – 8:30 Daily Check-in
8:30 – 10:00 Academic Support
10:00 – 11:00 Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Group
11:00 – 12:30 Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Group
12:30 – 1:00 Lunch
1:00 – 2:00 Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Group
2:00 – 3:00 Practicing Therapeutic Skills
3:00 – 3:30 Process & Wrap-up

In addition to the schedule, the Teen Full-Day Treatment Program includes weekly individual therapy sessions for your teen, biweekly case management, and additional support as needed. As a parent or guardian, you’ll receive weekly progress updates, information about your teen’s schedule or program changes, and guidance on how to reinforce the skills and lessons your child is learning in treatment.

Ensuring Academic Continuity For Your Child

One of the first questions parents ask is, “What about my child’s schoolwork?” We’re glad you asked.

We understand that falling behind academically during treatment can create additional mental health challenges, such as stress, anxiety, shame, and lower self-esteem.

That’s why a key component of our teen outpatient programs involves our state-certified teacher working directly with your teen’s school. They will collect coursework and assignments to ensure your teen maintains academic continuity and stays on track with their classmates throughout treatment.

At Pillars Health Group, our clinical services form the foundation of our comprehensive care. Our expert clinical team relies on evidence-based therapies and treatment modalities to uncover the underlying causes of the mental health challenges your child may be experiencing. Through a combination of individual and peer-focused therapies, we help empower your child to build a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Our clinical services encompass a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including medication management (when appropriate), comprehensive case management, and various outpatient therapy options.

In addition to clinical treatment, your teen will also engage in what we call “mindful movement,” incorporating physical exercise that supports healing of both the body and the mind.

I started at Pillar Health during a really difficult time in my life. From day one, the team treated me like a person, not a case number. The intake was thorough but never judgmental, and the group sessions actually gave me tools I could use right away. What stands out most is how the staff follows through and I can’t say enough about how caring they were about my situation. That kind of care is rare. If you’re struggling with mental health, substance abuse or just need someone in your corner, go to Pillar Health. They genuinely want you to get better.

Outstanding clinicians and phenomenal mental health care. I was hesitant to join but am beyond happy and eternally grateful for every group and one-on-one session I experienced. A very well rounded program that has created such a safe and comfortable space to build connections with others in recovery and to develop skills and healthy ways to navigate anxiety, stress, triggers, and unhealthy urges. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. A highly recommended program.

I am so glad to give Pillars Health in Tewksbury the best review. I came into the IOP hesitant, but hopeful . The staff were engaged and encouraging. I came out of that hesitancy with a positive mental and physical outlook. The Check in and Check out were expertly handled with both in-person and virtually, making time to make each voice heard with helpful suggestions on how to keep moving forward to a positive, and , educated perspective!

I joined this program at a point in my life where I felt everything was out of control, I had no future, I had recently been dealing with a divorce and the loss of the life I knew with the pet family we created. Having that torn down I knew I needed to take a step to take care of myself. This program has allowed me to become in touch with myself again. Learn to live, by myself. Codependency was a crutch for me and learning about all of this has educated me to make better choices, and sit and really challenge my thoughts. Mid way through the program I lost someone I loved to suicide. Thankfully I was in the program and they gave me the space I needed to process for a few days and jumped back in. The team even helped me file an extension with PFMLA and work to ensure when I have returned I am the best version of myself going back. Met many great people and they have a great caring staff. Not to mention DOWN TO EARTH.

The staff is absolutely amazing! I felt like I belonged immediately. It's a small group, but the best I've ever experienced. I'm going to be so sad when it comes to an end, as I will miss everyone, but confident I learned the proper tools I needed to be my best self.

Pioneer behavioral health and the people there have seriously saved my life and changed it for the better. I cannot imagine what I would do without that program today I’ve learned so much in such a short amount of time I couldn’t be more grateful for the knowledge in the community that I’ve gained truly such a wonderful place.
